Vietnamese Backyard Wedding in Bethel Park with Jason & Nhung

Nhung & Jason's backyard was the perfect space for their wedding. I've had a few couples that held two ceremonies – one I photographed in Brownsville, then traveled with them to Kentucky to photograph their second wedding to each other – but these two win for the furthest distance. After their Bethel Park festivities, they celebrated again in Vietnam.

You don't need a giant space to have a great backyard wedding, just the right kind of space. Nhung & Jason's was a nice flat square, with some great hedges to block out distractions (and serve as a great backdrop for portraits).

A friend designed their invitations, and they were so cute.

I love doing the family formals outside. Getting everyone in some great natural light makes the photos go faster than having to set up gear inside of a church or hall. I also love doing some uh, less formal formals.

It might not be a popular spot for wedding photos, but this nearby cemetery had some beautiful landscaping.

She's braver than I'd be in those shoes. Thankfully, no one got wet during this portrion of the day.

Nhung had a second outfit planned for her reception, a more traditional Vietnamese outfit with beautiful embroidery.

This guy's ready to party.
