When you’re having a good time, your personality shines through in your photos. We’ll capture what the people you love are really like, right now, and now an idealized, posed to perfection version of them. Portrait sessions can be about more than just making photos, we can make memories, too! Incorporate some activities that your family loves. We can capture your family having a picnic, climbing rocks, making pancakes, or whatever bring you all some joy. Let your kids be kids.

Sessions can be done in-home, outdoors, or in our cozy studio in West Brownsville. I want to make it easy for you to have beautiful portraits of the people you love most. We have time for snack breaks, clothing changes, and quiet moments if that’s what your family needs. Quality portraits, heirloom products, and an experience that’s laid back and simple. That’s our whole deal.

family portraits

We have our own family portraits taken pretty regularly, so I know that they can be stressful. But I also know that they don’t have to be. Let me help you sort out all the details – what to wear, where to take them, when to take them – so that you can just relax and have a nice time with your crew. Don’t worry if your little ones are a little wild, or it feels like I couldn’t possibly be getting the kind of portraits you see here of other families. Trust me, they all felt the exact same way. Family portraits can be chaotic, but when you find a photographer who you can trust, you can let go of all that worry. Getting beautiful photos is my job, hugging the kids is yours.

Speaking of kids being wild, what if we just leaned into it? Some of my favorite portraits of my sons are from days that I just let them explore in a safe environment, and followed them around with a camera. Climbing over tree roots, inspecting rocks, giggling at bugs, leading the way. We have a ton of fun, and we get amazing photos from it. If your kids love to be outside, and don’t love siting still, this is a great way to capture them in their element. I don’t tell them where to sit, or what to do with their face, I just let them be kids while I look for the good light.

We do a lot of outdoor sessions in beautiful locations for families, but our studio is also available. If you’re looking for a more traditional portrait, have a kid with a winter birthday, or need a place that’s easy for grandparents to navigate, our cozy West Brownsville studio is a great option.
