Mountain Wedding with Julie and Steven
I've known Julie since Brownies, we go way back. So I was really stoked to not only get to do a wedding for an old friend, but also do a wedding that's basically in my backyard. They didn't exactly get the fall wedding they'd planned (it was 80 degrees at the end of September), but I think they were still pretty happy with how everything turned out. Theirs was a small mountain wedding, the type that is being labeled an intimate wedding or elopement these days. They opted not to have a wedding party (although they still had toasts from friends), and partied in the red room at the Summit Inn.Her dress was originally her mother's, altered to fit. They embroidered a tag inside with both of their wedding dates. This church is so close to my house, I could walk there. The other building is where John and I had our own wedding reception, ten years ago. After the ceremony, we made a few stops. First, for drinks. Then for pepperoni rolls from the Penncraft store. Then we did some portraits. I feel like this really shows their relationship. It was really hard to continue working after my ovaries exploded, but I pushed through it. These guys are too cute. The bride will now dance with her BFF.
