London
Last September, I got to fly out to London and speak at Dare Conf. It's billed as "people skills for digital workers," and my talk was called Deconstructing Your Excuses (you can watch it here. Since it was an FAQ at the conference, the cat dress is from Modcloth.)We figured that since I was taking the trouble to fly out there, John may as well come along and we'd make a vacation out of it as well. I brought my x100s along, and that thing is the best little travel camera. I only brought that and my iPhone, and that's all I shot with all week. This has been a half dozen trips or so now that that's been my setup, and it's working out fantastic. Anyway, enough shop talk, here's some photos. We spent most of a day flying, from Pittsburgh, to Chicago, to London, and then took the tube into downtown. John's favorite thing to do after 12 hours on a plane is have his photo taken. We stayed at a place called the Rough Luxe, just a block from the station. Our first two days, I spent mostly at the conference. We had a few meet-ups in town. And of course I had to go and give my talk. The rest of the week, we spent exploring. We went to the Tower of London while they were still installing poppies. It's both a really sad and really beautiful installation.Of course we went on the Eye, and of course I took a jillion photos of/from there. We also stopped at the wax museum. The creepy, creepy wax museum. One of the ladies at the conference kept saying that John looked like Hugh Jackman, so we took a photo for comparison. If you're interested in more of my opinions and writing, pick up Punk Rock Entrepreneur!Or See some of my other writing and speaking
