Deb & Rick's Traditional Bethel Park Wedding
Last year, I got to photograph Phil and Amanda's wedding at the art museum in Pittsburgh. This year, I got to photograph Amanda's mom's wedding (which is somehow the second time I've had a couple recommend me to their parents for their wedding) a little closer to home, in Bethel Park.I do a lot of weddings in odd spaces – forest clearings, renovated bank buildings, restaurants, backyards – but I also still shoot good ol' fashioned church weddings. Deb and Rick had a very traditional wedding, except for the part where the minister took the first selfie with the newly married couple. They're hip to that sort of thing, though, having met on the internet despite living on the same street.Their wedding party was all family, and their kids got to toast them at their reception later. I get pretty sappy about family, so I definitely ended up with something in my eye during those.Grandma's always on duty, even on her wedding day.Speaking of family, there was an abundance of adorable kids at this wedding. I accidentally put this one down for a nap during the reception.I'm a big fan of lace, and I really loved her dress.Documenting their first selfie as a married couple. And their first photobomb.Finger guns are a Phil Maise classic.Cell phones are the new brag books.I kept snapping photos of this guy, just to show them to him on the back of my camera. He seemed pretty happy with them.I'd actually been up to Cool Springs a lot, for PT, because my life is extremely glamorous. But I'd never gotten to see the banquet hall, Ches Anthony before. It's a really cool space, with huge doors that open to the patio, so that guests can drift in and out.My man's learning that Cha Cha Slide early. The car wash is, apparently, a family tradition. Into it.
