We took the baby to Disney
So, again, slow blogger. Last November, we skipped out on doing Thanksgiving at home, and drove down to Florida instead. We have some family in Sarasota, so we stayed with them for a few days and then continued on to Disney for a few more days. We did the whole trip in a van with 6 adults, my 10 year old niece, and our then 17 month old. And it was a blast.I don't have any stellar advice for keeping a toddler happy when you're driving from Pittsburgh to Disney, except that rest stops are your friend. We stopped every few hours and made sure he could get out and run around for a bit, and we took 2 or 3 days to drive down.I don't take the big, serious work camera on vacations. All of these are either from my iPhone, or from the x100s. Our first stop after we met up with our family was Siesta Key, and it was Bird's first time seeing the ocean. He was extremely into it.King of the tide pool. It's kind of scenic, I guess.Back at the house, Bird discovered that he could pretty much just walk on into the pool. So he kept on doing it, fully clothed.Monster butt.We finally got to Disney, and Bird was so excited he immediately fell asleep the second we got him into the park. These birds will steal your waffles right out of your hand.Awwe, a hug that's so sweet OH NO IT'S PINCHESBaby's first light saber. You might think that taking a toddler to the Brown Derby would be a waste, but this hungry little man begs to differ. We got tickets to some sort of Christmas spectacular, and of course, Bird fell asleep right before it was time to go. So my dad said "you guys go ahead, I'll stay here at the hotel with him." Half an hour later, we get a text with a photo of him sitting in dad's bed eating Apple Jacks. Little booger faked us out.He crawled behind an ATM machine, because he is always investigating something.Last time we were here, I had to skip the safari ride, because pregnant. I was super sad because I wanted to see a giraffe, so this time I saw a damn giraffe. I saw the hell out of it.Hi fishies!Bird made a new friend in the gift shop.We got their Memory Maker deal, where you can just stop at any of the photo op areas in the park and get photos taken. Which was nice for me since, as official family photographer, I don't end up in many photos otherwise.Hey what's in there OH MAN IT'S POPCORN YASSSSSSS!He really did travel like a champ.
